This 100 year old lamp lights the room corner: green fern, pictures of ancestors (horse-riding grandfather administrator, mother teacher and father captain world war veteran), PC notebook with presentations with articles and pictures on palliative care - 23 years of 50 years physician work.

I remember warm Dame Cicely Saunders’ welcome in Hospice (1990):  “it is good to meet you - an active hospice doctor from Poznan”. She is my inspiration for Polish and English students palliative care classes in Poznan’s Hospice Pallium, of ESMO certificated Palliative Medicine Chair and ECEPT – a friendly place for trainees from Eastern and Central Europe.

On my PC notebook is a picture of Cicely being rewarded in Krakow by the President of the city.
