Palliative care in Sudan

Patients with life-limiting and life-threatening illness place a significant occupancy burden on Sudanese public hospitals. Of these patients, two-thirds are unaware of their prognosis and have severe symptoms and concerns. Basic palliative care skills for all hospital teams, with specialists to mentor and manage complex cases, are crucial to improve outcomes and manage high symptom burden.
