Managing breathlessness in COVID-19
6th April 2020
Researchers at the Cicely Saunders Institute have produced a leaflet to help people manage breathlessness at home during the COVID-19 outbreak. The leaflet is also for clinicians who are supporting this group at home. The leaflet has been approved by King’s College London’s Academic Health Science Centre and NHS commissioning group.

The leaflet has been written for people with breathlessness and their families. It is especially helpful for those with chronic conditions whose clinical teams are being diverted to the COVID effort. All the advice is based on the best available evidence and resources, but adapted to the COVID context. The leaflet harmonises with national guidance, e.g. from Association of Palliative Medicine, Royal College of General Practitioners, and National Institute for Clinical Excellence.
