14th March 2019
Cicely Saunders Institute POS Workshops 2019 – RCP Accredited
Mev Hocaoglu, co-ordinator of the POS workshops 2019 reports:
“We were delighted to welcome over a hundred delegates with interest in palliative care from Australia, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Sweden, Switzerland, Singapore, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and around the UK.
During the event we addressed outcome measurement in clinical and research settings and scenarios, the POS family of measures, their integration, administration, scoring and interpretation in routine practice, as well as in demonstrating the effects of service. The delegates practiced use and learnt about reporting of IPOS data through interactive sessions. Latest methods and research with the POS family of measures were also discussed. We also ran ‘POS Clinic’ sessions for the first time where delegates had the opportunity to submit questions on any aspect of POS use to the POS expert panel. These sessions were welcomed by the delegates and generated informative discussions on clinical interpretation of scores and changes in scores. We also accepted abstract submissions related to the application and validation of POS family of measures in clinical or research settings. Several successfully went through the peer review process and presented their work”.
