Michal Galazka Study Day 2019: The Transformative Power of Big Data in Healthcare
Monday 7th October 2019 | 10:00 – 15:00
Cicely Saunders Institute, King’s College London, Bessemer Road, London SE5 9PJ
This all-day educational meeting will look at advances in the application of big data to improve palliative care.
Big data analysis is transforming the healthcare research landscape worldwide. Technological advances in data linkage, natural language processing, and statistical developments, are providing new opportunities for impactful research across health care settings, populations, and disease groups.
In our third Michal Galazka International Study Day, speakers will present their research and discuss with the audience the implications and opportunities of routinely collected data for healthcare research.
The day will include sessions on future challenges for big data used in healthcare, international collaborations in Big Data in end-of-life care research, informatics and use of statistics, and experiences of data linkage and data analysis.
Speakers will include Professor David Spiegelhalter (University of Cambridge), Professor Bregje Onwuteaka-Philipsen (Amsterdam Public Health Research Institute), Professor Martin Gulliford (King’s College London), Lucas Morin (Karolinska Institute).
Refreshments including a sandwich lunch will be provided.
The Michal Galazka Study Day is part of our global leadership programme and named in honour of Michal Galazka, pioneer of international hospice education.
