EmbedCare newsletter

The Empowering Better End of Life Dementia Care Programme (EMBED-Care) is creating new ways of supporting patients with advanced dementia, where they live and receive care. The research is building understanding on the current and future needs for dementia palliative care, how people with dementia move through the health and social care system and will develop new ways to deliver these vital services. The research is one of four collaborative projects being funded by the ESRC-NIHR Dementia Research Initiative 2018, which aims to improve the lives of people living with dementia across the UK.   Cicely Saunders Institute’s Dr Catherine Evans, who is joint co-investigator of the programme said:

“We have had to adapt rapidly to new circumstances and the challenges brought by COVID-19. …The impact this has had on frail older people highlights the important contribution that EMBED-Care will make.”

The latest edition of the project’s newsletter is out now, and includes updates on the COVID-19 response from the team, building capacity and progress in individual workstreams. You can read the newsletter here
