Celebrating the continuation of the work of Dame Cicely Saunders

Cicely Saunders International is proud to support “Celebrating the continuation of her life’s work”, a programme of events being held to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the death of Dame Cicely Saunders (1918-2005).
On 6 November 2014, the chairman, John McGrath, and trustees of Cicely Saunders International hosted a reception at the Cicely Saunders Institute to launch the programme of events which run from November 2014 and throughout 2015. Guests were delighted to hear an address by Lord Wilson, a trustee of Cicely Saunders International, in which he reflected on his friendship with Dame Cicely Saunders. He described how, later in life she wanted to expand her work to include research into a wide range of life-limiting conditions which has resulted in the creation of the Cicely Saunders Institute.
