Celebrating the centenary of Cicely Saunders

The Cicely Saunders Institute will be hosting a series of events in 2018 celebrating the centenary of our founder Dame Cicely Saunders who was born on 22 June 1918.
Many organisations around the world will celebrate Dame Cicely’s centenary with exhibitions, documentaries and other events to reflect on her importance as a pioneer of the hospice movement, and the work that became the foundation for the establishment and recognition of palliative care as a medical specialty.
Here at the Cicely Saunders Institute, we will celebrate our founder and connect with supporters and colleagues who continue Cicely’s work today. The Institute will be hosting a series of events, including seminars, workshops, music, film and talks. Please visit the Institute’s website for more details.
