This small light sits in the corner of our bedroom, on top of a Bose CD player which also has a digital clock.

The shade is newer, but the glass base came from my parents’ house and seems always to have been part of my life. I love the simple effect by which the light is refracted to make a luminous sphere. It connects well with music and the passing of time

Cicely was an extraordinary inspirational force. Attending her memorial service in Westminster Abbey was a great privilege and another marker of the huge extent of her lifetime achievements.
